  Natural Resources Police Respond to Boat Accident on Deep Creek Lake

On Sunday, May 14, NRP responded to the scene of a boating accident in Deep Creek Lake. At 1:50 a.m. a 23-foot Sea Ray vessel operated by Paul Edmund Hughes, 40, of Arlington, VA struck the Rt. 219 Bridge.

Hughes and his passenger, Stephen Joseph Donachie, 39, of Falls Church, VA were transported to Garrett County Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

 Hughes was charged with reckless operation of a vessel, operation of a vessel while under the influence of alcohol and operation of a vessel while impaired. Deep Creek VFD and the Northern Garrett County Rescue Squad assisted at the accident scene.
